I need your address! And a recovery upate. UPDATED

When I'm back to full health I'll be working on something for Jack and I need your home address. So send them to me via email or MySpace message pretty please.

OH I guess I'll update you on my recovery status. I should be back to work no later than March 5th. I got my stitches out this past Wednesday and didn't actually see my doctor so I'm waiting for the phone call. I'm doing better everyday, trying to sit up more often to get ready for the 8 hours of sitting in a chair at work. Taking less and less vicodin because a mushy brain sounds fun but doesn't go well when trying to assist technically challenged retards who can't figure out on their own what to do when their computer is totally frozen. (For those of you retards reading this who don't know the answer, push and hold the power button until your computer powers off and never, ever turn it back on. Turn and step away from the computer!)

Anyway...my follow up appointment is March 1st, so cross your fingers people, we really need good news!

Don't forget to email or message me your address.

UPDATE: My follow up appointment has been moved to next Monday March 5th so now I won't be back to work until next Tuesday. A bit longer to wait for my biopsy results, but it's an extra day to recover before returning to work.

Peace out!

Minor complications...what else would you expect.

OK so here's how my surgery went.

It wouldn't be US if there weren't minor complications during my surgery. I shouldn't have been, but I was surprised to find out they found an adhesion on my previously MIA ovary. The adhesion was connecting my ovary to my stomach, this pulled my ovary up and away from my fallopian tube. Apparently the adhesion was caused by my last surgery, it's like scar tissue. It could have also been caused by my endometriosis. But it's good I had surgery to find it because organ to organ adhesions will kill you!

My doctor scraped the endo out and lasered my cysts. Hopefully we'll be getting the biopsy results tomorrow when I get my stitches removed, if not tomorrow then March 1st at my follow up appointment.

Some of you may remember from last time I had major problems with anesthesia. They had to quadruple the amount they normally give people to knock me out. And it took 4 hours in recovery to get me to wake up and after I got home, I was still out of it for the first 5 days. Also, let's not forget I almost died from lack of oxygen.

So this time after the usual pre-OR, relax you "cocktail" he also gave me Ketamine better known as Special K. By doing that, he was able to give me the standard amount of anesthesia to knock me out. It's funny I remember telling him as they were prepping me for surgery that I was totally sober and it was scaring me, maybe the cocktail he gave me wasn't strong enough. He told me to relax he was giving me another drug that was a lot like Acid, LOL! I thought it was really funny that a Doctor was using the term Acid instead of LSD. Then I was worried that I was so stoned maybe I told him I had done Acid back in the day. I don't remember anything after that, but the doctor told Jory that I really liked it. LOL! Anyway, I woke up much easier this time and was in recovery for half the time.

They also gave me much stronger pain killers since they had to cut me open a bit more then planned. They told us it was an intensely more technical surgery then last time and I would be in a lot of pain. That was no joke! However keeping up on the pain killers has helped lessen the pain. I started lowering my dosage a few days ago and I'm feeling it.

Anyway, that's all my vicodin brain can take.

OH...THANKS for all the well wishes!

I'm Alive! & Britney has lost her mind!

I swear every time I go on vacation or am in the hospital crazy shit happens. The night I got home after my surgery, Jory notifies me that "Anna Nicole Smith died today". And now I'm sitting here on my couch, recovering and not sleeping because I can't get comfortable and it seems Britney Spears lost her mind last night and shaved her head!

Other crazy events that happened while I was in the hospital or on vacation:

At the airport waiting to fly to San Jose, CA....OJ killed Nicole and what's his name.
In a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada...Princess Diana dies in a car crash.
Driving to Lompoc, CA...El Nino floods California (we actually got stranded in Ojay (OhHigh), CA due to freeway closures.
Vacationing in NoCal....Hurricane Katrina ravages NOLA.
In the hospital giving birth to Jack...Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin dies from a murdering stingray.
1 week later...Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel dies mysteriously.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm bored already. Time for more Vicodin.

More on my surgery and recovery later...

Only 7 Days Until I Go Under The Knife

My surgery will be next Thursday February 8, 2007. Jory was able to schedule a week off to take care of me during the mandatory 24 hour care period. The crucial first 4-5 days that I'm in so much pain, they keep me doped up so I sleep through most of it. Those days that every time Jory wakes me up to administer more drugs, I ask him what the doctor said. And being the most fabulous husband in the world, he relays the story over and over again. The other night I was telling Keara that I should get a digital recorder so Jory could record the story the first time I ask, that way when I ask him every 4 hours he can hand me the recorder and just play it back.

After Jory returns to work, in order to wing it alone, our friend Keara has so kindly offered her mini fridge. We'll stock it with pre-made lunches and drinks so I don't stumble my stitched and stapled, doped ass to the kitchen, fall and brake a hip, then lay there until Jory gets home at 10:30 PM. I'll be fine.

I'm not looking forward to the day before surgery when I have to drink that nasty magnesium citrate and sit on the pooper all fucking day. And let's not forget the catheter during surgery makes you feel like you've been holding your pee for days and days and no matter how many times you go to the bathroom, that painful feeling doesn't go away! Mind you, I'll be waddling in pain the entire trek to the bathroom.

Jory and I have been going down memory lane and reminding each other what happened last time. This has been both helpful to be better prepared this time and scary because we know what to expect. I'm definitely more stressed this time. I clearly remember the pain I went through regardless of the drugs they gave me. Waking up from surgery with the nurse telling me over and over to take deep breaths and hearing the oxygen alarm go off, scary! Feeling like they had cut me open, tossed my guts on the floor then shoved them back in, not something I really want to relive.

I don't know, there's this sense of doom this time around. I know how fragile and precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. I'm not saying I feel like I'm going to die, I'm just more aware of how serious this all is. Everyone keeps telling me I need to be optimistic, but that hasn't worked well this past year. Please, I just don't want to hear that I already have cancer!

"If it keeps on raining, Joey's going to break"

All day long I've had A Perfect Circle's version of "When The Levee Breaks". It goes something like this:

"If it keeps on raining, levee's going to break,

If it keeps on raining, levee's going to break,

And the water gonna come in, have no place to stay"

I went to my doctors appointment today. Not only did the one Serous Cystadenoma grow larger, but now I have two, along with all my other PCOS cysts blocking my eggs from leaving my ovaries. Obviously I have to have surgery again. Yes Again! It's not even about getting pregnant again. If I don't get them out they will become cancer. If I magically got pregnant before my surgery, I could possibly get ovarian cancer during my pregnancy. I HAVE to get them removed. He's going to biopsy and laser the fuckers to oblivion! And to my surprise, or lack of attention he's going to remove the Endometriosis in my uterus like he did last time. Last time? That's right, some of you might remember the title of my post from last years surgery results was "Well it's not Endometriosis...". Apparently it was, but somewhere in the fog of drugs and lack of oxygen after surgery I missed that part. Unfortunately it was news to me. Another brick wall in the way of our dream.

As usual my doctor promised me a second chance at motherhood. So far he's come through on all his promises. I did get pregnant and have a baby. We just didn't imagine the possibility of having an Incompetent Cervix causing Jack to come so soon, having no chance to survive. We'll be prepared this time, if we get lucky again. I'll have a cerclage and I've got long term disability for bed-rest if needed. And since we're dealing with me and my luck, it will be needed. We even have a mini fridge set up to borrow when the time comes. No not for Jory's beer, drinks and prepared lunches for when Jory is at work. Well, I guess Jory might need a few beers when that time comes. It will be really hard, but we'll deal with that if it comes around.

We won't know until we get there, but from the way things are going, there won't be time for a third try. As much as I wanted to raise two living kids, I'll be pleased as punch with one. PLEEEEASE let me at least raise one child!

I'm tired of bad news. I don't like drama and it seems that's been my life the last year. I'm ready for good news. I'm trying to stay positive and remember that we got pregnant the first try after my surgery last year, so hopefully it will happen again.

All this is happening and I'm still trying to prepare myself for what would have been my due date, next Monday, January 22nd. Jory and I have both taken the day off. I can't even begin to write about what that day means to us. Maybe I'll try later.

For now we sit and wait for the call from my doctor to schedule the surgery, it will probably be sometime in February. As always we'll keep everyone posted.

"If it keeps on raining, Joey's going to break"

Some Changes & It keeps on pouring! Edited

Welcome to my new web address! Why change? You'll find out below. May I ask for a favor? If you link to my blog, change it to my MySpace which is now private. I have this blog address listed on my MySpace which they can view if they are my friend.

Buckle up, this could get bumpy....

I'm starting to think our life is more and more like a soap opera everyday. No we haven't been possessed by the devil, brainwashed by Stephano, or recently found out our friends are vampires; but close enough. We've had so much drama lately, we could post blogs at least twice a day on this shit. You'd think after a year of extreme highs and lows, this one would have to get better.

We already bought a car and thought it was stolen, found out it was towed for no tags by Ninja drivers and when we bailed it out of jail, discovered damage to the back left quarter panel. So far Diamondback Recovery has failed to return our calls. I know they are just trying to wear us down, but they should know we are stubborn and we will not forget, we will call everyday until they resolve the situation. Not to mention that it took 4 visits to the MVD aka DMV and a trip to the credit union where the lien was held to get this fucking car registered! Finally the car stress is over.

While all this car crap has been going on, I've been dealing with mama drama. I'm not going to go into details, unless I start writing and can't stop. I'm sure most of you saw her comment on my blog and thought it was a bit strange or as many have said, "fucking crazy". It was fucking crazy and completely inappropriate, selfish and immature. She doesn't know how we feel because she has not had a child die, but because she's more concerned with convincing us that she does know, she somehow forgot her role, as a mother of a grieving daughter. Instead of comforting and supporting me, she's forced me to defend my feelings. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time she's acted this way. I've been dealing with these behaviors my entire life.

Taking space from my mother has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But dealing with her right now just isn't healthy for me, I have to take care of myself.

Our Car Was Stolen!

This is our new car, only ours is white.
You may or may not have read this, if not I'll summarize or tell it in my own words.

We bought a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Thursday morning from my friend Keara. We spent all day Friday getting it insured, emissions checked and attempted to get it registered, but without the title or Bill of Sale it was a no go. Before we drove home, we opted to go shopping with our Best Buy gift cards, then grab a bite to eat. We got home, grubbed on New York Sub's paninis and I took a nap. Shortly after I woke up, Jory realized the car was gone. The Car We Just Bought was GONE! The Car was Only Parked in the F'ing Lot for 3 HOURS! Unless you've had your car stolen I'm not sure I can emphasize the feeling in your gut when it seems this has happened to you. Before we called 911 to report our car stolen, Jory ran outside to see if there was a towing info sticker on the carports and luckily there was. He called and confirmed it had been towed, they open at 11 am and for a small fee of $220 cash we can bail it out.

As Jory pointed out, these were the quietest Ninja tow truck drivers on the planet. We normally hear every large truck and their beeping that drives by our apartment. We were obviously pissed, but there wasn't anything we could do until morning.

We woke up early called Diamondback Recovery, the tow truck company to tell them we didn't have a title or registration to prove the car was ours but all our paperwork including our insurance confirmation was in the glove box. She said she'd work with us because she understood our situation. We drove to far west Phoenix or Tijuana as I like to describe it and found the place. The clerk walked me back to the lot and pointed out my car and told me she'd beep me out. As I walked over to the car noticed it was parked next to a giant metal plate that was leaning up against the fence. They had parked my car right up against the fence so the bushes were swallowing my car and the trunk was covered in bird shit. I had to step on the metal plate in order to get into my car because there was only an inch between them. I pulled out slowly to make sure not to make contact with the metal plate. I stopped right outside the fence so I could yell at Jory and let him know I had the car when I noticed the drivers side rear bumper was severely scratched. I called Jory over to check out the damage and verify it wasn't like that when we bought it and he agreed it was not damaged. I walked back inside and advised the clerk that my car was scratched to all hell. She called her boss and he told her the owner would have to call us on Monday. I made her come out and look at the car to see that the damage was fresh. She refused to let me back in the lot to take pictures of the metal plate it was parked next to and tried to say it couldn't have damaged the car because the scratches were black and the plate was "green" as I described it to her. The scratches are black because it scratched the white paint OFF!

We called the cops so we could get an incident report documented in case the supposed "good guy" owner wasn't such a good guy.

We waited 2 hours for the cop to show. While we were there one of the other guys bailing his car out found that his pricey tail lights had been jacked and stock ones put in, however the stock lights were just set in, not even screwed on. AND his battery was dead and back tire was flat, NICE! What a joke of a company this DIAMONDBACK RECOVERY is.

We finally got out of there at 3 PM. We needed to meet up with Keara to get the Bill of Sale signed and make it to the MVD (DMV to everyone outside of AZ) before it closed at 5 PM. Once we arrived at the MVD we were told that the Bill of Sale would not be good enough, Keara would need to give us power of attorney of the title and request a duplicate of the title. THEN we find out Keara's credit union still has a lien on the car and she needs to request a lien release with a specific date on it, if it doesn't have that date then we are up the creek without a paddle. SERIOUSLY? We all know where this is going to go. Jory and I have the worst luck in the world. We try to stay positive but seriously I don't know how much more we can handle before one of us cracks and pulls a bell tower incident. (note: this is not a threat, just creative writing.)

So now we're waiting for the owner of Diamondback Recovery to call us Monday morning, the lien release from Keara and I'm driving the Cavalier to work with my fingers crossed.

And I have three other partially written posts I have yet to finish.

New Year Resolution for Angel Mommies'

I Resolve...

That I will grieve as much and for as long as I feel like grieving, and that I will not let others put a timetable on my grief.

That I will grieve in whatever way I feel like grieving, and I will ignore those who try to tell me what I should or should not be feeling and how I should or should not be behaving.

That I will cry whenever and wherever I feel like crying, and that I will not hold back my tears just because someone else feels I should be "brave" or "getting better" or "healing by now".

That I will talk about my child as often as I want to, and that I will not let others turn me off just because they can't deal with their own feelings.

That I will not expect family and friends to know how I feel, understanding that one who has not lost a child cannot possibly know how I feel.

That I will not blame myself for my child's death, and I will constantly remind myself that I did the best job of parenting I could possibly have done. But when feelings of guilt are overwhelming, I will remind myself that this is normal part of the grief process and it will pass.

That I will not be afraid or ashamed to seek professional help if I feel it is necessary.

That I will commune with my child at least once a day in whatever way feels comfortable and natural to me, and that I won't feel compelled to explain this communion to others or to justify or even discuss it with them.

That I will try to eat, sleep, and exercise every day in order to give my body strength it will need to help me cope with my grief.

To know that I will heal, even though it will take a long time.

To let myself heal and not feel guilty about feeling better.

To remind myself that the grief process is circuitous–that is, I will not make steady upward progress. And when I find myself slipping back into the old moods of despair and depression, I will tell myself that "slipping backward" is also a normal part of the grief process and these moods, too, will pass.

To try to be happy about something for some part of every day, knowing that at first, I may have to force myself to think cheerful thoughts so eventually they can become a habit.

That I will reach out at times and try to help someone else, knowing that helping others will help me to get over my depression.

That even though my child is dead, I will opt for life, knowing that is what my child would want me to do.

3/3/3

It's been 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days since Jack died.
What I wouldn't do for him to be here!

You are felt in the raindrops that fall from the skies
You are felt in the tears that fall from my eyes
You are felt in the sun that shines from above
You are my everlasting love

I would have been nine months pregnant today

This month has been horribly hard for me. Dreading today and tomorrow and the all around holiday hoopla is enough to drive me to insanity. We knew the holidays would be hard, which is why I decided that I was not celebrating this year. To my surprise, this is hard for a lot of people to understand. My mother on two accounts has asked me if Jack would want that. First, NO ONE has the right to speak for Jack, no one! So for future notice, don't speak for Jack or on Jack's behalf unless you want your face ripped off. Unless you have lost a child, you have NO IDEA what we are going through, so don't question our decisions. We're not in the mood to celebrate and there is nothing to celebrate for.

Why today sucked probably more then tomorrow will. I would have been nine months pregnant today. My belly would have been HUGE and we would have been planning the fast-coming birth of our first born. Instead, we grieve for Jack who came too soon and couldn't stay for long. Everyone else has moved on and forgotten while we quietly mourn our loss. We don't want to be a bother and know you don't know what to say so we put on our happy faces and people believe we are OK. We're not OK, we're the farthest thing from it, but don't know what to do to "get better".

I haven't been blogging this month because I was afraid of what I'd write. I've really felt like I'm starting to breakdown, uncontrollably. I know a lot of it is due to lack of sleep. The combination of Jimi's constant late-night potty breaks and having to take Jory to work at the butt crack of dawn. Up until this past Friday I was getting no more than 2 straight hours of sleep. I've been off work since then and have done nothing but sleep, vegetate and sleep some more. I'm trying my best to snooze through the rest of this wretched month. Hopefully now that Jory and I are back on the same hourly schedule, Jimi will get on a better sleep schedule and not have to get up as often.

What scares me the most is how fooled everyone at work is. They've actually made comments to our security guard who is a close friend of mine about how much happier I seem lately. If you remember, one of my last posts, I mentioned how smiling seems to make everyone think I'm OK so they don't bother me or try to entertain me or try to make small talk because they don't know what else to do. Once I started "smiling" they stopped bothering me. I was able to hide in the shadows and come out when I want. I'm not OK, I'm far from OK.

I've never really cared about my personal appearance but lately I've taken that to the 100th degree. I'm glad we have no family or friends here because I would be ashamed for them to see me or our house. I'm a mess, the house is a mess. I just can't find the energy or need to get off the couch or out of bed to clean. I'm a total wreck and can only hope that with a new year I'll find my way out of this dark hole. Unfortunately with Jack's due date coming in January, I don't know how that's possible.

Mama misses you Jack!

Do not judge the bereaved mother.
She comes in many forms.
She is breathing, but she is dying.
She may look young, but inside she has become ancient.
She smiles, but her heart sobs.
She walks, she talks, she cooks, she cleans, she works,
she IS, but she IS NOT, all at once.
She is here, but part of her is elsewhere for eternity.

National Childrens Memorial Day TODAY!

"Held annually the second Sunday in December, this year December 10, The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe as they light candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died at any age from any cause. As candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries.
Believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the Worldwide Candle Lighting creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.

The Worldwide Candle Lighting started in the United States in 1997 as a small Internet observance but has since swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance. A memorial message board is available during the event at TCF's USA website www.compassionatefriends.org. Hundreds upon hundreds of postings are received each year from all over the United States, as well as dozens of other countries. Some messages are in foreign languages.

Here in the United States, publicity about the event is widespread, being featured in the past in Parade Magazine, Ann Landers column, Guideposts magazine, Annie’s Mailbox, and literally hundreds of U.S. newspapers, dozens of television stations, and numerous websites. Information on the Worldwide Candle Lighting and planned memorial candle lighting services is posted on the TCF website at www.compassionatefriends.org each year as the event nears.

The United States Senate has, for many of the 10 years of the Worldwide Candle Lighting, joined in the remembrance by unanimously passing resolutions declaring the second Sunday in December of each year National Children’s Memorial Day to coincide with The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting.

The Worldwide Candle Lighting gives bereaved families everywhere the opportunity to remember their child . . . that their light may always shine!"

We would be so honored if you would all light a candle for Jack.

Three Months

Thankfully it was my day off. I think I've done really well not letting my depression the get best of me. I get out of bed every day, I go to work, I take care of my dogs, and I never forget my "I'm fine" face. I found that it makes work easier if I hide behind the fake smile. No one seems to bother me now that I "smile". I like being able to disappear and come out when I'm ready.

We've had a lot of distractions lately. With Jimi home now we're not getting a lot of sleep and having to chase her around constantly is a huge distraction. Only when she's sleeping do I start to think again. Going through all the TTC steps, doctor's appointments, taking my temperature every morning and getting HCG shots definitely takes up a lot of my time. I'm not sure if all these distractions are good or if it will eventually catch up to me?

I don't want to wake up one day and not have control of whether I can get out of bed or not. I've been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. Depression is a serious deal. Most people know that I'm Bipolar. Obviously un-medicated since we've been TTC. It really hasn't taken control over me since we moved out of Utah. The sunshine does miracles! Regardless, I worry about it sneaking up on me. Since Jack died, I've done everything I can to stay away from medicating myself too much. Instead of picking up the bottle, I started smoking again. Obviously I plan on quitting again, soon. I've tried not to make it habit of taking my Ambien too often to so I don't become addicted. Lately, I haven't needed any sleep aids because I'm exhausted at the end of the day from being swamped at work, taking care of the pups and getting up in the middle of the night with Jimi.

I'm getting used to all the Jacks I come across all day. Whether it be people calling at work or characters on TV, Jack is everywhere. I feel like I'm not doing him justice. We haven't made it to the Angel here in Phoenix yet. Jory and I only have one day off together and it seems it's the day we both sleep in and vegetate. Fridays are normally packed with appointments, dropping Jory off at work, chores and errands. Today we should have made the effort to go, but yesterday was crazy for me and after getting up with Jimi early this morning, I napped too long.

With so much going on and my emotions lately, I'm wondering if somehow my brain is turning them off because I feel like I'm going through the motions of life, but not really living. I still brake down and cry, mostly in the shower and on break at work. I don't really know how to do all this. I don't know how to deal with this grief. I don't know how not to worry about losing my ovaries someday. I don't know how I'm supposed to make it through any more tragedy. I don't want to come off so cliche, but seriously WHY ME? Why is life so easy for some people? Why is getting pregnant and having kids so fucking easy for so many women? Why do I have so many medical issues? Why do I have go through all these trials?

I guess this is the part where I should mention that I'm going to be an aunt. We found out the day I returned to work in October. My baby brother Christopher called and left me a voice mail before I woke up. On my way to work I remembered he had called, so I called him back and he said he wasn't sure how he was going to tell me this other then to just tell me. Even though I thought I knew what he was going to say, I was shocked and speechless when the words came out of his mouth. "Fawn is pregnant". After a minute or two of silence, I was able to swallow the lump in my throat and tearfully tell him I was happy for him. I knew how scared he must have been to tell me. How much he must have stressed about how to tell me, when to tell me and worried about how I would respond. He apologized a million times about the horrible timing. She was on birth control, they hadn't planned this. How unfair it is that they Mistakenly gotten pregnant, when we've being trying for so many years and when we were finally blessed, our son had to come too soon and died. So many thoughts rushed into my head. I wasn't angry or hurt just crushed that again I was being tested. Something else thrown in my face. Jory and I decided then that we would turn this into something to look forward to. Neither of us have nieces or nephews so this is our first opportunity to be an aunt and uncle. Don't get me wrong, it was horribly hard to see Fawn over Thanksgiving and to hear everyone talk about the new baby. I kept waiting for Jack to be mentioned or talked about and when it never happened I told myself it was OK, they don't know what to say and don't want to upset us. But it still hurts. I miss Jack so much. My heart aches for him every day. I just don't want people to forget about him.

A few friends have asked to see pictures of Jack, when we're ready. I don't know why I'm so protective of them. The first thing I told my mother in the hospital was that we would share the pictures with immediate family only. I could just picture her carrying his photo in her purse and showing them to every customer at work. Now I know she wouldn't really do that, but she's a proud grandma. I don't know why I don't want to share them, even with extended family. I'm a proud mother, but for whatever reason I'm not ready to share them/him with the world yet.

I Am
I am the one
To remember his soul.
The one who knows him best.
I am the one to speak his name
When others forget.
I knew his spirit
And what was to be.
I am the one to carry
His life in my heart.
Others remember through me.
I am the one to bring joy and hope
To his memory as it fades.
I knew him first and saw him last.
Everyone looks to me
Now that he is gone.
I am his mommy.
