Fuck Weeds!

Once again, it was time to remove all the fucking weeds from the back yard. We had done the front yard a few weeks back and had been working on burning them once they dried out, we're still not finished.

Keara and I(Jory doesn't Do yardwork lol!) were determined to take back our backyard from the damn Black Widows who have taken up residence. After about 4 hours of back-breaking work, we had to stop. We made it half way and when we finish it, I'll post a final After picture because I know how much you care. ;) Maybe this spring we'll have another large stash of money to finally landscape, but don't hold your breath.

Not quite a full before picture, we had been working for over an hour by the time I remembered the camera. We had only created one large pile by then, see upper left corner.

Keara made me take this to prove I was there. Serious sweating.

Camera shy Keara taking a break

Weeds are fun to photograph

After I pulled this weed up I felt bad because it's actually pretty

The Art of Driving Home

After narrowing down the amount of pictures I was going to post, I started noticing a theme. The reflecting lights in each photo look like a different animal (* or object) to me. What do you think?

Rabbits

OK no animal here, but do you see the giant star?

*OK, ok my theory isn't looking so good yet. Just wait. I do however see a monster's face.

Wyoming Cowboy on his mustang (right under/in the green sign). Oh and there's Snoopy!

AND swimmers on the left. This is fun!

Birds

Road Runners

Rooster

Otter?

Flamingos

Sea Horse

Not an animal or object, just Yield.

Bats

Guitars or vacuums

Christmas decorations already!

Another Thursday morning, looking out the bathroom window.
I love how these look like paintings. Taken with my camera phone.

Telecommuting Tuesday

Just got a call from a little old lady that totally bummed me out.

Technical Support, this is Joey. How can I help you?

"I think I have the wrong number, is this 1-800-###-4357?"

Could be, we have a lot of 800 numbers that come into us. This is *Company name Technical Support, who are you looking for?

In the saddest little old lady voice she says, "Suicide Hot line?".

Oh I'm sorry, our numbers are very close, hang on (I totally paused a second here thinking - literally hold on lady, put the gun down, it will be OK) for me a second and I'll get you the correct number.

Fumbling all over our website with the number...wanting to say something to her...making sure to be super nice and sweet and caring all through a phone. I find the number, clearly speak every number as if it's the secret code to disarm the bomb she's holding.
1 - 3_1_4 - #_#_# - 4_3_5_7.

"Oh I dialed 1-800, so it's 314?"

Yeah, 314...

Why are they making people call long distance to get help? That's so retarded. I know it's just one of the many suicide hot lines but seriously? Of course, at that moment of helplessness I couldn't think of the standard and probably most well known 1-800-SUICIDE.

"OK, Thank you"

I almost said have a good night, but corrected myself before speaking and said, Take care.

It makes me horribly sad to wonder whether the hassle was too much and she just decided to end it all.

I'm totally bummed out.

Repeal Prop 8 Restore Marriage Equality

Have you seen Keith Olbermann's "Special Comment" about Prop 8? Keith eloquently expresses why the passage of Prop 8 is so tragic, and he addresses supporters of the proposition directly.
Here is a link to watch a YouTube video of Keith's comments. Please check it out and then join me and over 100,000 other people in signing a pledge from the Courage Campaign and CREDO Mobile to repeal Prop 8 and restore marriage equality to California:

http://www.couragecampaign.org/prop8repeal

Usually, discussions of political issues wind down after elections, but Prop 8 is not about politics. It is about love, equality and civil rights. That's why we cannot let the passage of Prop 8 stand.
We all need to talk to our family and friends about the importance of restoring marriage equality to California.

That is why I am asking you to watch what Keith Olbermann said and then sign the pledge to repeal Prop 8.

The birth of a new Marriage Equality Movement -- the civil rights movement of the 21st Century -- is unfolding before our eyes.

Movements are visceral and popular, often borne of outrage and anger. What we are witnessing on the streets and online is a community of people who have come together to say: "These are our lives. This is our time. This is unacceptable." Organized from the bottom-up by thousands of ordinary people just like you, this people-powered phenomenon is exponentially growing by the minute, online and offline.

This is our moment to stand strong together -- gay and straight -- and say that we refuse to accept a California where discrimination is enshrined in our state constitution. Please show your support by pledging to support our campaign to repeal Prop 8 and restore marriage equality to California.

Please sign the pledge to repeal Prop 8 -- then forward this link to your friends:
We, the undersigned, are united in our refusal to accept a California where discrimination is enshrined in our state's constitution. We pledge to repeal Prop 8 and restore marriage equality to California.

153,306 people have signed the pledge*. Please add your name now!

Post compiled from MoveOn and Courage Campaign.

I can only wish the people in Arizona will also repeal our own Prop 102. I believe in Equal Rights, do you?

Telecommuting Tuesday

View from my office window. It's not as dark out to the right as the picture displays, it was taken with my camera phone and we have energy efficient windows so they have a dark tint to them.
But I must say this is a much better view then my everyday cubicle.

And yes, our yard is still just dirt. At least the front is weed free, Thanks to Keara for helping me the past few weekends. The backyard is a whole other story.

It's as if we live in the desert...har har! Yes we live in the desert and we get some crazy ass weeds! If we don't stay up on it...which we haven't yet, it turns into the scary scene above (since we haven't landscaped yet). Then I have to spend my entire weekend weed eating the damn thing and it's not a small backyard! At least the weeds are dying, they will be much easier to pull up then live.

Hi, My name is Joey and I'm a Geek.

First off, what retard still drives a Hummer? Since we bought our 2008 Honda CRV "Lucy Version 2.0" I have been amazed at what great gas mileage it gets compared to my previous 1997 "Lucy". I had always enjoyed an average of 22 mpg, but with Lucy 2.0 so far I've got it up to 43 mpg with an average of 30 mpg (city/hwy mixed). We're talking about a SUV people!

Which would you choose to drive?

I took this photo on my third trip to Fry's Electronics in the last 2 weeks. I'm telecommuting from home every Tuesday for work (YAY!) and working on a laptop without a separate keyboard and mouse will drive a person crazy! Out of the 4 keyboards we have kickin' around the crib, not one was USB. Not to mention the only working USB mouse in the house has been on it's last leg for some time now. And with my headset taking the first USB port, the mouse would then take the 2nd port, leaving no other ports to plug a keyboard into. So anyway bore bore bore, you're getting so bored.....I needed to buy: wireless mouse, USB hub and a USB to PS2 adapter.

First purchase was the wireless mouse, during my lunch on my first Telecommuting day I ran over to Officemax and picked this one up.

A few days later I went to Fry's (the first trip) to pick up a USB to PS2 adapter for $1.99 so I could plug in my keyboard to my laptop. But I wasn't paying much attention, being surrounded by all sorts of geeky computer gear can over stimulate someone like myself. I found myself immersed in external hard drives, specifically a 1TB Buffalo DriveStation FlexNet. When I saw it on sale for $139.99 I almost wet myself. We've been researching online for a while now and I had not seen anything cheaper then $169. I called Jory and got the OK to purchase it and I went home.

The next Tuesday morning I pulled out the adapter and grabbed one of our extra keyboards hanging around and realized I had bought a Female USB to PS2, MOTHER FLOWER! I obviously needed a Male adapter...GRRRR.

A few days later I went back to Fry's (2nd trip) and picked up the correct Male adapter.

You'd think by now I would try it before my Tuesday Telecommuting morning, but you're wrong. I pull out the ol' work laptop, grab my super kool wireless mouse, usb hub, keyboard and adapter and start setting up. After everything is all plugged in and computer is running, the adapter wasn't being recognized. I read online that they only work with come keyboards...good to know now.

Anyway, now that this post is way too boring for even my taste and I'm SO OVER it...blah!

I ended up buying a new wireless keyboard which happen to come with a wireless mouse. So now we have two wireless mice (technically 3 because we already had one for our laptop, but somehow that slipped my mind until I purchased #3).

I promise to never again post anything as boring as this was. I'm sorry. I'm only publishing it because I spent three days working on it which is totally ridiculous!

History Made

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America -- I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you -- we as a people will get there," Obama said in Chicago, Illinois, before an estimated crowd of up to 240,000 people.

With Obama's projected win, he will become the first African-American to win the White House.

I have never cried actual tears for anything political, but during Obama's speech I shed many. I honestly felt inspired and proud to be an American for the first time in a long time. I believe his speech will be remembered forever, it's up there with Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a Dream" for me.

If you haven't watched it, take a moment and do so. Maybe you need inspiring too?

Fuck You Shrub Lovers...Obama Won!

I knew it would happen, but it feels so good for it to be over (well over enough for me to celebrate). Obviously all the votes will be counted, but there is no question this is a landslide!

Obama's speech will be remembered forever, Tears People, in my eyes! For the first time in a long time I felt Proud to be an American and hopeful for our future. There is no doubt history was made today and I'm proud to be a part of it!

Enjoy our Election Day photos

Getting organized at 7 in the morning is not the easiest thing.

Proposition Persistence

The guy on the right asked if I was voting Yes on Prop 102 for marriage (to be defined as one man and one woman) and I laughed and said "OH HELL NO!" I believe in equal rights, Thank You Very Much!

Jory getting his morning dew on.

He made me take one of myself, since I'm always shooting him.

I VOTED!

November NABLOPOMO

Maybe this will help get me back to posting? Or it's just another expection I have for myself that I won't live up to. Geeze just typing that sentence made me question my cup half empty/full or completely empty mentality. Maybe it's the fact that I'll be 32 years old this month and I'm no closer to fulfilling my life goals. ie. Being a mama to a living child or two.
I've been reading my journals from high school and other then the fact that some of the things I wrote are just down right silly, I'm shocked at how troubled I was. It's amazing how much I had forgotten! All I really remember is how much fun we had, all the crazy adventures, those way too drunk nights or all night trips. I remember the hard times, how depressed I was but I guess when recollecting those stories for new friends now, I don't remember how suicidal I was, seemingly ALL THE TIME! I was Screaming for help and it seemed no one was listening.
I'm thinking about sharing some of those posts here. Just trying to build up the courage. You never know who reads this blog (mom) and I have to be OK with really Putting It Out There.
Stay tuned.

FOUR HOUR Long Doctor's Appointment!

Just spent the last 4 hours half naked on this table. My doctor had 2 emergencies to attend to. Made me cry when the nurse came in to tell me, I can only imagine what the poor pregnant women were going through. Missing my Jack...

Update...Ok now that I'm actually at a computer, I'll fill you in. Of course I wasn't actually ON THE TABLE for 4 hours. My appointment was at 9:50 am, I didn't get in a room until 11:15. I sat on said table (half naked) in said room until 12:30pm (1 hr 15 mins). After a very painful T.V Ultrasound, the doc says he's not happy, can't find my left ovary, wants me to fill my bladder and try again in 30 mins. So I get dressed go out to waiting room, drink at least twelve, 12 oz cups of water. Just as I start to feel like I'm going to puke, I'm called back into the room at 1:00 pm. Doc comes in around 1:30 and still can't find my left ovary. Says my bladder isn't full enough, but can see that I'm in pain. We agree that if he can't find the ovary that there must not be a giant tumor, cancerous cyst or sleeping dog in it. Left office at 2:00 pm.....that's a whopping 4 hour appointment!

I'll be starting Clomid and Femera on Thursday, go back on Nov. 7th for HCG shot and "monkey dancing" will commence. (Jory's grandma would say Monkey Dancing when she was talking about SEX. )

Amigurumi...What's that?

In order to break up the monotony of making micro baby blankets (you know the one's I haven't yet taken to the hospital for Jack's 2nd birthday, which is probably a good thing because I'm sick with a cold again) I decided to try and follow a crochet stuffed animal pattern and it was the most fun I've had in ages! ("the most fun" who says that?)

I had picked out the colors (for those of you who may be color blind...green, yellow and pink) for a blanket for my "sister" Sara's baby (at the time we didn't know would be a girl!) and decided I'd give the bunny pattern a go. And although I deviated from the pattern in the biggest way, I substituted a single crochet for a slip stitch, it turned out pretty fucking cute!

Sorry the photos were all taken with my camera phone because I have yet to find time for a serious photo shoot, and well, I didn't want to hear anymore whining about how I hadn't posted for a while. No I'm not talking about you Tom. I kid I kid.

I know this is a dark photo and since I have a good one below, why did I post both? Cause I like it! It makes me think of Donnie Darko even though it's not even close.

So after I popped my own cherry successfully making a bunny I decided to venture into Amigurumi and make my Best Friend Keara a wittle tute Turtle named "mini wiggins", cause she has a real live Mr. Wiggins at home.

Here's what he looks like from the side. I didn't take any with my camera phone, but did however with my real camera, I just haven't uploaded the pics OK. sheesh

After mini higgins, I realized I'm a pro (wink wink) and can now make up my own patterns or at least deviate much further from the actual patterns.

i.e. Below you will see an unfinished baby kitten that Jory was saying looked like a butt plug (take away the ears and arms and you too will see this gross similarity) I only bring this up because I know if I didn't Jory would comment about it and it's fun to steal his thunder!

I don't know why I'm struggling to decide whether or not caption this next photo or not...who cares who I offend right? But I am and that's weird for me. It's not like I NEED to caption it, for most of you or at least those of you who didn't need to google "butt plug" images will know immediately what the caption would be, but for those innocents...I'll spell it out for you!

Here's Jory Eating My Pussy!
To bring this nastiness to a close, I have all but finished the kitty, just needs a face. I'll post a pic tonight or later or never.

Peace out!

I SO Have To HAVE One!

While listening to Seniorita Pain in the ass Palin try to debate pretty blue tie Biden, I'm debating on whether to get a Costco card or Sam's Club card for the cheaper gas prices! Although I'm pretty set on going Costco for the locations, but on Sam's Club's front page I found this Shoprider Flagship Scooter with Cab! It's like a Micro Smart Car but not really cause it's not a car but anywho....Doesn't it remind you a little bit of the Harry Potter Knight Bus when it squeezed through the double deckers? And for $6,110.00, it's a steal! kidding bitches
Peace out!

Back to work

So I'm back to work, part time at least. The first two weeks I only worked 3 days a week, 4 hours a day. Now it's 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday. This is only my 2nd day at every day and I'm tired, exhausted. Two words I'm sick of: tired and exhausted. What a waste of 3 months, kind of depressing to tell you the truth. I've wanted to catch up on posting, but at the same time, not really cared whether I get to it or not. It's all boring anyway.

The only thing exciting in my life is my best friend Sara's pregnancy. We recently found out she's having a girl and I'm as nervous and excited as if it were me. Honestly! I'm making her the cutest little crocheted bunny and blanket.

I guess that's news...I'm crocheting again, after my injury from last May. Wait, I already blogged about that, been making micro baby blankets to donate to Banner Desert, the hospital Jack was born at. I've finished two so far, almost done with two others. But now I'm moving on to making stuffed animals, they are super cute and the bunny I'm making for Sara is my first attempt, I must admit I'm pretty pleased with how it's turning out. I also taught Keara how to crochet, she's caught on quite quickly. She also taught me to knit, which I still feel is much harder then crocheting.

See, now it's a week later and I still haven't finished this stupid update post, blaaaaaah!

So last night randomly around 11:30 pm a sore throat kicked in out of no where. Just on the right side though, hurts up in my right ear as well. Fifteen minutes later and my left nostril started running, yes just the left nostril. There is no mystery as to where this cold came from, her name is Keara and it's my fault. She told me she was sick last week, but I told her to come over anyway. Jory caught the bug a few days ago, Sunday I think and now it's my turn. No more threesomes for us! I'm KIDDING! Ha Ha...We joke all the time about our supposed Polyamory family. When it's not the three of us Paling around, it's Keara and I getting asked at every store checkout if we are sisters and my quick response "Yes, identical twins", normally gets a "Really? That's neat" or "Cool, I have twins!". Depending on the person's response, I sometimes confess that we are not truly identical twins. They all seem surprised...seriously.

Anywho, I was thinking of political bumper stickers and came up with McCain + Palin = McCan't. There's no secret who I'll be voting for this November. I hope all you readers are registered to vote!

Speaking of...Want a free Obama/Biden sticker? MoveOn's giving them away totally free--even the shipping's free. I just got mine, and wanted to share the opportunity with you.
Click this link to get a free Obama/Biden sticker.

I'm trying to think if there is anything else worth writing about here...I guess I'll save some stuff for individual posts, just wanted to get something up before I lost my readers.

Coming soon....(I SWEAR) Our trip to Moab for Jack's 2nd Birthday and Angelversary, Super Kool Frisbee Golf course in Fountain Hills, Black Widow Invasion, Living room Carpet Be-Gone and much much more...maybe those dreaded Utahrd photos, I'm almost scared to look at them for fear of getting the Tri-illness Curse again.

Peace out for now,

Joey

ps. Thanks for hanging in there.
pss. I updated the previous post about Mazzy's hurt paw...go read it.

How to keep your dog's stitched up paw from getting dirty, wet or chewed on after you remove the cast...

Crochet a pretty purple sock of course!

So here's the story...I took Mazzy out front for a smoke and she was totally normal and fine. We walk in the house, she prances in like a princess and not 5 minutes later she's doing this weird, no whimper limp and kept biting at her paw. I swooped in and grabbed her from the floor, cradled her (which she hates) in my arms but couldn't get a good look, so I put her on the couch on her back and we started investigating her paw, I couldn't see anything and all the poking and prodding wasn't seeming to hurt her so Dr. Jory stepped in and found this crazy big blister looking thing in between her toes! Due to the quick change in her behavior we figured it must be a spider bite or some similar emergency. Luckily we live 1 mile from the closest Animal Hospital so we jumped in the car and sped over. According to the sign on the door, they close at 7 pm. However there were some nurses just inside who came over and opened the door, they were willing to look at Mazzy's paw because we weren't sure if this was an emergency and they didn't want us to have to pay the emergency fee at their sister hospital. They told us it wasn't a spider bite, probably a cyst or tumor of some kind, but definitely not an emergency. I made an appointment for the next day and we took Mazzy home. I placed her on the couch assuming she wouldn't want to wander around on her hurt paw, but the she jumped up and pranced off as if nothing happened. The tumor must have got caught on her nail to make her limp earlier.

Long story short...the Dr. couldn't determine what kind of tumor it was from the needle biopsy, just that it might be a soft cell tumor and could be cancer. A week later she went in for surgery, had it removed and the biopsy supposedly sent to a lab for results. I say supposedly (which I know isn't a real word) because after 3 weeks of wondering and waiting, I called to get the results and the doc says "ummm oh...um...I guess we had a miscommunication because they didn't have a biopsy listed as something you wanted to do." WTF? I'm not going to go into details, you'll be bored (probably already are)...the point is they fucked up. He said luckily for us they still had the tumor and could send it but I argued about being charged for it...needless to say he said he'd call and never has. Regardless we would never put Mazzy or any of our animals through chemo and/or radiation if we found out they had cancer. Who does that?

So we live life as normal and if we find another tumor, we'll have it removed, but otherwise we'll continue to spoil her as always and enjoy her sweet, tender loving heart as long as we're lucky to have her.

Final update...The day before we left for Moab the bandage came off and she's back to prancing around the house like a princess and humping her sister as normal.

Here's one to hold you over

So I know I broke my promise to post once a week, but it's hard to sit upright in a chair for any length of time, but I'm going to work on posting our vacation pics...from Utah back in JUNE so here's one to hold you over. It's the last pic I took of my sad sad sick lips. It's a bad angle so don't stare at my enormous nose or unplucked brows or mustache or beard for that matter. Just concentrate on the nasty lips and be thankful it wasn't you.

Oh yeah...it's 08/08/08.
